When it comes to residency tuition fees, think about moving. This is an especially smart tactic if you live on the East Coast, where commuting across state lines is easier. Residency requirements vary - some states use six-month criteria, others 12 months. But the amount of money you can save if your child goes to public college in the state in which you reside makes a big difference.
