It’s hard for us to find the words to express just how bad airline travel is going to be this summer. We wish the news were different, but it’s the truth. First of all, air fares are soaring. Second, airlines are cutting back on the number of routes available and staff. Continental announced that it’s trimming 3,000 jobs and cutting back its capacity by 11%. American is reducing its capacity by a similar amount, and United is cutting its number of flights by about 18%. It’s all because of record gas and fuel prices. Even though the total bill almost put me back in the hospital, it was accurate. That’s the exception rather than the rule. One study we saw found that 97% of hospital bills contained errors! Don’t let them overcharge you one penny! Read up on the most common ways hospitals overcharge.
