We just returned from two beautiful weeks in Italy. Daria’s family is Italian, and it’s absolutely one of our favorite places in the world to visit. Fortunately, our flights went off without a hitch, but while we were there, all we heard about were flight cancellations back in the U.S.! More than 3,000 were cancelled just last week as American Airlines checked the wiring in almost half of its MD-80 planes to repair potentially faulty wiring. Add in cancellations from other airlines, and hundreds of thousands of people were left scrambling to make other plans. Talk about a royal pain! Fact is, recently, we’ve all been suffering through record airport delays, and it’s not going to get any better over the summer. Sad to say, but we expect it to get even worse! Next time you fly, remember this: You have travel rights! They may not be spelled out in the U.S. Constitution, but you have them all the same. Click here to listen to our special audio alert, and we’ll give you the straight scoop on your rights as an air passenger—including exactly when an airline does and doesn’t have to compensate you, the best way to almost guarantee you won’t get bumped from an overbooked flight, and more!
We’ll never forget one caller to our national radio show. He was from Wisconsin, and he joked that he had enough money for retirement as long as he didn’t eat from Wednesday till Saturday each week! Funny, until you realize the sad truth behind that statement. No matter how old you are, you need to think about this most basic of questions: Are you saving enough for retirement? Your first question to us is probably, “Hey Dolans! How the heck am I supposed to figure that out?” We put together a special worksheet just for you. Don't worry. Our worksheet is 10 times simpler than others we’ve seen, and you’ll get your bottom-line number in just six easy steps. Click here to go right to our special worksheet.
There’s no beating around the bush: The housing market stinks right now if you’re a seller. We know firsthand. We recently listed our house for sale. In the just-completed first quarter, there were 22% fewer homes sold across the country than last year at this same time, which was right before the whole sub-prime fiasco really took hold. Prices are down, too. The average price fell almost 14%. We wish we had better news, but you know us! We give it to you straight. We expect a tough housing market for some time. While it is clearly tougher to sell your house in these conditions, it is not impossible! We have some simple, but effective, strategies to help you hang out the “sold” sign in a down market…and SELL! We’ll even throw in a few surprises for you—like a fantastic tip we received from a listener. It’s one of those “V-8” head-slappers that make you say, “Why didn’t I think of that?” |
