I (Ken here) absolutely love sports, which you probably already know. I’ve played them through the years and watched them all of my life. I think one of the most appealing things is that you know who wins and who loses because you keep score. This notion of “keeping score” is now more important than ever to your personal financial well-being in the midst of the current financial tsunami. I’m talking specifically about your credit score. A good credit score is critical because it opens the door for competitive interest rates on mortgages, credit cards and other forms of loans. (This door is getting slammed in a lot of people’s faces these days … even people with good credit!) Plus, it saves you a TON of money with those better interest rates. So … if you haven’t already done so … you need to start paying close attention to your credit score, and you need to start now. We’ve made it easy for you with our 7 Steps to Boost Your Credit Score . These are some of the smartest moves you can make with your money right now, so please don’t put it off. It’s hard to believe, but the holidays are right around the corner! In just nine days, we’ll celebrate Thanksgiving, and then it always seems like a whirlwind right through New Year’s Day, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, it might be even more of a whirlwind than usual if you’re one of the millions of people who plan to travel during the holidays. There is at least some good news to share. Gas prices are a heck of a lot cheaper than just a few months ago, so if you’re driving to visit family or friends for the holidays, enjoy the ride! But if you’re traveling by air, prepare yourself now because it’s likely going to cost you a lot more bucks and be a lot more stressful. Don’t give up on the holiday joy yet! We have some terrific tips to share to help you travel cheaper and with far less frustration. From airfares to hotels to important stress-busters, click here for our tried and true holiday travel tips for 2008 to keep you full of good cheer.
Hey, what about us? We’re hearing all about the transition from George Bush to Barack Obama and what the new president will try to accomplish, but has he contacted me (Daria here) yet? Of course not. But all kidding aside, we’ve been asked what we would do if we were president of the United States. And since I have the bigger mouth of the two of us when it comes to politics, I’m more than happy to step up to the podium and share the top 10 priorities of a DOLAN administration. I have no doubt that some of these ideas will surprise you, and I suspect you’ll cheer along with some of them, but you may disagree with a few, too. That’s OK. That’s what this great country is all about. But had these priorities been followed up until now, I dare say we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in. Don’t wait until January 20 for Barack Obama’s inauguration speech. Click here to watch mine now! Sincerely,
