Are you scratching your head? We are, and here’s why: This past weekend, leaders of President-elect Obama’s transition team said that among the new administration’s biggest priorities will be a new stimulus plan (sure to cost hundreds of billions of dollars) to boost the economy and tax cuts to help the middle class. Hmmmm. Less money coming in and more money going out. Doesn’t sound as if these folks have watched our video on creating a budget. Someone, somewhere will have to pay for all of this. Does “US” ring a bell? We know Obama has said that he would repeal some of the tax cuts for wealthier Americans (which we think is a bad idea), but there is no way that will make up the shortfall. Bottom line: We still think your taxes are going up in the next few years, so you need to do everything in your power to start reducing the amount you owe now. We’ve put together a starter list of 7 easy ways to offset higher taxes. Click here to see the full list now and make sure you’re getting the most bang for your tax bucks. Sincerely,
