You forgot to mention that corporations should be good corporate citizens. Pay their fair share. Create safe work environments so govt can police them less. Produce our food in a safe, healthy way so govt can inspect less.Drill oil in a safe manner to protect our environment. You get the point. Company's work better and safer our govt.would need to do less.
We Own the Economy
Democratic National Committee Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, could come to rue the day that she uttered the words, "We own the economy."
But, it IS about time that this administration stopped blaming the last over-spending president and started admitting this current mess is theirs.
U.S. satisfaction has dipped from a low of 26% at the beginning of May to an even lower 20% the beginning of June, according to Gallup.
70% of people polled recently said that they've been affected "a great deal" or "quite a bit" by higher energy and food prices, stagnant wages, unemployment, falling home values or a combination of a few of these items.
That's what you own, Debbie.
But the scariest number in all the recent surveys is, hands down, that 51% of people polled said that the government should be doing more to help people and solve problems.
WHAT???!
Hasn't the government done enough to prolong this malaise without gumming up the works even more?
Want to fix the economy?
Well, here's how you do it.
Turn this country back to the productive people.
Unshackle them from too much regulation. Get rid of duplicate governmental agencies.
Get rid of sweetheart tax breaks for individuals and corporations by creating a FLAT TAX without loopholes so that we all pay truly OUR FAIR SHARE.
We are still the greatest country in the world.
We've just lost our individual resolve over the past hundred years.
But, we CAN take back what we had and what will sustain us going forward: American ingenuity.
American ingenuity does NOT emanate from the government. It resides in the individual heart and soul of each one of us. It¹s the ability to try and fail WITHOUT government intervention and WITHOUT bailouts.
It emanates from Main Street NOT Pennsylvania Avenue...and it emanates from your home and ours.
So let's get cracking!
We agree it isn't going to be easy to dig ourselves out from under the dirt that we've allowed our elected officials to bury us in, but it CAN be done.
It MUST be done.

"Turn this country back to the productive people," you advise. Who the hell are these extraordinary souls if not those decent, honest and hard-working "average" joes and janes who hitch up their briefs each day to report to their jobs? If you're suggesting that "productive people" are the barons of industry and fat cat hedge fund managers or assorted other "get rich quick" types who would sell their own mother down the river for a bigger bonus, I think you're delusional. I also think that a Flat Tax is nothing more than a standard GOP gambit to fleece the middle class and working poor yet again, as it would fall disproportionately on those classes who must spend more of their total earnings on basic necessities and transportation. And if The rich wouldn't gain substantially from the implementation of the flat tax, why has Steve Forbes been championing it so relentlessly for so long?
How about following Presidental Order 11110 signed into law in June 1963 that in it's self will slash the Debt. greatly.
And why has it been ignored by Presidents and Congress? Does the tax's that come from our pay checks go to pay national operation expenses or does it go soley to pay the (private bank) Federal Reserve Bank?
