GM CEO Calls for Gas Tax

The General Motors CEO is calling for a $1 a gallon gas tax for everyone.

Could that be because GM's Chevy Volt has been a bust?

Does GM think making gas more expensive will force us into buying a $40,000 car most of us can't afford and even fewer want????

Just asking...

As more motorists drive more fuel efficient vehicles, there is less gas being used which means less tax being collected to pay for the highway repairs. This tax is not the sales tax a local community may have in the sale. It is a tax added per gallon that is in the price we pay at the pump.

The biggest problem with creating an additional revenue stream such as this is keeping it directed to its original intention. It will become a necessary tax at some point in time.
