Sony PlayStation Hacker Alert
The first security breach of Sony's PlayStation online service was bad enough.
But this morning it's being reported that Sony has been hacked a SECOND time!
This broader attack involved 24.6 million customer accounts, bringing the total number of compromised data to more than 100 million.
Although Sony didn't initially believe that credit card information on those accounts was accessed...names, birth dates and addresses from as many as 77 million accounts were involved.
Never being ones to blindly trust anyone, we are urging ALL PlayStation users to exercise caution, common sense and care.
On a DAILY basis...check the online credit card statement for the card you use for Playstation.
If you see any transactions that you don't recognize, IMMEDIATELY call your credit card company.
We strongly recommend that you cancel the credit card that you have used with this system.
If you receive any emails purporting to be from Sony or PlayStation, no matter how legitimate they appear, DO NOT provide personal information such as your credit card number, the security code numbers from the back of the card, banking information or your Social Security number.
We also recommend that you immediately change the password that you use for this account.
Hopefully, you will not be affected by this latest breach.
But "better safe than sorry" are the watchwords for today.
