Banks are on the offensive.

We warned you that banks, facing new restrictions under financial reform legislation, would launch a fierce fight against losing their outrageous service fees.

And sure enough, over the last few weeks we’ve seen banks across the country launch a massive battle to keep those bank fees rolling in.  Up first…overdraft fees for debit cards and ATMs.

On August 15th, the congressionally-imposed deadline will force banks to stop collecting fees for most debit card-related and ATM overdrafts without YOUR permission to do so!

Some estimates predict that banks stand to lose between $10 billion and $15 billion in annual overdraft revenue from the change.

So, many banks are hammering clients with pitches designed to entice you back into their costly programs.

You’ll likely see pop-up ads on your banks’ website or special statement stuffers in your mail telling you all the reasons opting into overdraft fees is good for you!

You might even get pitched next time you walk into your bank.

Should you say yes?
