We want to warn you about a major new email scam hitting email inboxes across the country--including ours!
The email has a subject line "Thank you for your order" and appears to come from Amazon.com customer service. But it's really just a phishing scam meant to steal your personal information.
The email is very well done and looks quite legitimate--it has the Amazon.com logo, and contains an order number, total price and a link to view your order. That link takes you to a fake site that asks you to enter personal information.
Obviously, DON'T CLICK! Just delete the message.
Amazon.com never asks customers to confirm account or order information by clicking on a link from an email. And they never ask for Social Security numbers as part of any transaction.
Here's a sampe of the email we received so you can spot it if it shows up in your inbox!
If you have a new scam you want to warn others about, post it here, or drop us a line at kenanddariadolan@dolans.com
