How to Fight Back
If you are receiving calls at unauthorized times or at unauthorized locations, or the caller doesn’t provide the necessary information, fight back!
Start by writing a letter to the collection agency detailing your concerns about the collector’s actions (the agent’s name, the date and time they called, etc.).
Request a specific action. For example, you can request that the issue be dealt with in writing from here forward, or that calls only be made to your home. Keep a copy of the letter for yourself.
