Your credit rating can affect everything from your ability to get a loan to your job search. So now it's more important than ever to make sure your credit report is accurate, especially when you realize that 80% of these reports contain mistakes.

If you haven't already done so, order a free credit report (you're legally entitled to one per year) at www.annualcreditreport.com. Be sure to check the reports from all three reporting agencies — Experian, TransUnion and Equifax — for inaccuracies.
