#5: "We'll Sit On Your Money!"
Many banks will "hold" a check you've deposited for as long as 7 or even 10 days - in most cases, this is absurd!
Deposited checks should be credited to your account the very next day. One of the occasional exceptions is when you deposit out-of-state personal checks... but even then you should get a schedule from your bank on its timeline for deposits.
And if you don't like what you see, call your state's banking regulator. Or find another bank that will credit your deposits on a timelier basis!
