Yesterday I mentioned briefly about a new website to help families compare the nearly 100 different 529 plans available to help save for college. With so many choices available, which one is right for you?
The College Savings Plans Network has a redesigned website at www.collegesavings.org which cuts through a lot of the clutter to help families choose the right plan.
The site's "Compare 529 Plans" link helps you narrow the field based on fees, so you can find the lowest cost plans. Remember, the lower the costs, the more you have invested and working for you.
The site also allow you to search for the investment manager you want or the types of funds you desire.
You'll have to sue a link to a specific state plan if you want performance information. Of you can check 529 performance ratings by going to www.morningstar.com.
Now you have no excuse to putt off college funding.
