Gas prices at the pump have come down a lot over the past few weeks. But they're still not giving it away. So if you still plan on buying an energy efficient hybrid care, you'd better do it now.
The tax credit of $3,150 on the Toyota Prius drops to $1,575 on October 1 st. Tax credits for other hybrids manufactured by Toyota like Camry, Highlander and Lexus shrinks to $775 from $1,300 and these credit will be cut again by 25% next April before disappearing altogether in October 2007.
There are still tax credits available on hybrids from Honda, General Motors and Ford ranging from $250 to $2,600 depending on the vehicle. But these too will be cut when the manufacturers reach the law's limit of 60,000 cars.
Tax credits are valuable. The reduce taxes owed dollar for dollar. So don't let this opportunity pass you by.
