High schools around the country have already or soon will, unleash a raft of teenagers upon America. What will they do all summer? The smart ones will pick up one of the many available jobs ready and waiting for them.
To make the search easier, here are a few tips:
- Ask everyone you now about job openings.
- Dress up in your vest clothing to show you're serious about working.
- Bring along previous work addresses and phone numbers to help in filling out applications.
- Ask an adult to help you practice an interview with questions an employer might ask.
- After an interview, be sure to send a thank you note the very next day.
- Keep your grades up. If the job comes down to you and one other, the better student is sure to win.
- If you can't find work or don't choose to work, volunteer in your community.
Volunteering shows character and ability and will help you avoid any summer boredom.
Good luck!
