"Gone phishing" may be the new motto of the Internet. And I don't mean tuna.
This phishing is spelled with a PH and refers to scams in which official looking websites try to worm your personal information, like Social Security Number and bank account numbers from you.
One scam appears to be an email from the IRS asking for information regarding your tax refund.
Don't take the bait. The IRS never contacts taxpayers through email.
In fact, you can help the IRS if you've received one of these scams. Go to www.irs.gov, search for PHISHING and forward it to them.
Remember, any email purporting to be from the IRS is bogus. They don't ask for personal information over the Internet.
Help shut down these scams!
